Abstract: The availability and nutritional quality of feed resources are the most important factors that determine the productivity of livestock. Livestock production in Tigray region is dependent on a variety of feed resources such as agro-industrial by-products, crop residues, grazing/browsing, and improved forage species. The need to increase the contribution of live animal and meat to the export market is felt by many stakeholders and planners. However, there is paucity of information on the availability and seasonality of the different feed resources that can be used for the production of export quality live animal and meat. Thus, the current study is carried out to address such gaps in selected districts in Tigray region.The study found out that different feed resources are currently used by both smallholder and commercial livestock farms.
